TEC Professional Rugby League Star, Adam Lawton, Wins ‘Try of the Season’
Adam Lawton, Professional Rugby Player and TEC Water Treatment Technician
Congratulations to Adam Lawton, TEC employee and Widnes Vikings professional rugby player, who has just won a trophy for ‘Try of the Season’.
Adam Lawton, TEC Water Treatment Technician, has worked for us for over four years and plays for his hometown rugby league team Widnes Vikings. Adam’s mum, Jayne, has worked in our Accounts department for 18 years. She is very proud of his achievements on the rugby pitch.
Adam started playing rugby at a young age, captaining Widnes Vikings at under-16 level before being selected for the first team in 2013 where he scored 9 tries in 12 appearances.
Following two years in Australia, Adam returned to the UK and returned to the professional game, joining Salford in 2019.
After loan spells with Rochdale Hornets and Swinton Lions, Adam found his way back to Widnes Vikings in 2020. Adam was glad to be back at Widnes and has since scored 22 tries in 45 appearances from the second row.
His recent performance for the Vikings earned him a trophy for ‘Try of the Season’.
We look forward to next season, congratulations Adam.
